Pssst… a small exhibition of exquisite sculptures (including the bronze that made Rodin famous, and this 18th-century rhinoceros) is showing till 2 May at the Barber Institute.

Also small but good is this exhibition from the early-20th-century Ashcan School at the National Gallery, on till 30 May. Scrofulous New York made beautiful.

It’s the first in a series “to present the British public with the finest works of American painting, and to introduce that public to areas of American art still insufficiently appreciated here”. Can’t wait to see what they send us next.
