Browsing idly in library this afternoon (bliss) discovered this gem of a book by Raymond Briggs.
About how if you’d only ever known margarine, you’d be hard pushed to imagine butter. It takes a boy genius to ask why life has to be so mean and hard, why we have to live in damp cold caves and wear stone trousers and eat raw food… but of course when you’re living in it, you don’t realise this is just prehistory. To you it’s the modern world.
